A super colorful, 120-page book with a pretty self-explanatory title. Fun fact: There’s some work in here from our good friend Mick Haggerty, who was actually one of Rick Klotz’s art school professors, and in the past has collaborated with Freshjive on a series of tees.
An excerpt from Brad’s preface: “The idea for Fame grew out of my last book, Phonographics, the art of record album covers. I wanted my new book to reflect the changes and accomplishments of recent illustration. The more I looked, the more I discovered: illustration had moved from album covers and posters into the mainstream of commercial art. The work represented here now appears on editorial pages and magazine covers, in advertising, and on pop products like cards and buttons. It has become a familiar part of the visual landscape–so familiar, in fact, that much of the art goes unnoticed and, so, unappreciated. By presenting this work in a book format, where it can stand on its own, apart from the products it was created to enhance, I takes on new meaning. The illustrator’s talents can fully appreciated and contrasted.”
