In the 1980’s, Melrose Avenue exploded with independent retail stores and restaurants later being labeled as the birthplace of Southern California’s New Wave and Punk Cultures. In harmony with the glamour of Hollywood, the street glowed with the flashing of neon lights grabbing the attention of eccentric shoppers. Today Melrose Avenue is a bastion of crap retail stores, crappier fashion, and derelict consumers walking up and down the block with crap looks on their faces.
